see the t could be any number so you would have to make it that
the person doing the equation would know what the number is.
so it could be
5+17 now write it in a algebraic expression
t+17= 22
so with every equation you don't use only use numbers
u will often use letters.

ReplyDeletet + 17 is an algebraic expression - however I would like you to be able to explain it in english.
So t + 17 means 17 more than t, or increase t by 17.
You don't have to know what t is worth to write down what it means.
